Founding Fathers complete the Summer Sweep! The 2011 Summer of Ultimate wrapped up under the lights at Watertown High School on Friday, August 12th as the
Founding Fathers defeated The Gala 15-10 to claim their second title of the summer and 10th overall. The Fathers jumped
out to an early 3-0 lead and extended it to 8-3 at the half. In the second half The Gala cut the lead to 11-8 before
the Fathers closed out the game with a 4-2 run. Thanks to all the fans who came out to support both teams and be a part
of the first night game in the history of the league!! There were a few surprises in
the session 2 tournament, starting with the #10 Blind Beagles knocking off the Division B Champion Bros & Throws in the
opening round. In the quarterfinals things went as expected, with the top four seeds advancing to the semifinals. Once
there, the Founding Fathers defeated Savage Seven 11-6 while The Gala upset the Flying Beers 13-6 to earn a spot in their
first Championship game.

SESSION 1 RECAP: Founding Fathers Claim Ninth Title In the session 1 tournament all
13 teams battled it out for the session one WUFL title. All told, the tournament played out almost exactly as seeded.
The top seeds won each of the opening round games with the exception of the #9 Blind Beagles knocking off the #8 Legends
of the Hidden Temple. In the quarterfinal round, the Fathers topped the Beagles, Ghengis Khan beat the Gala, The Beers
defeated Crunchwrap and Savage Seven knocked out Ven Conmigo Tortuga. In the semifinal round, the Fathers advanced with
a 13-8 win over Ghengis Khan and the Beers topped Savage 13-9. As the Championship game got underway the heat and the wind at WHS picked up and became major factors
in the match. A back-and-forth first half ended with the Fathers up 8-7. In the second half the Beers jumped out
to an 11-9 lead before the Fathers closed out the contest with a 6-2 run. It was the longest match in the history of
the WUFL tournament and the 15-13 final score was the closest championship game in the seven years of WUFL.
